R.K. Institute of Pharmacy (Pharmacy College in Bareilly) has well-equipped and modernized laboratories to cater practical training requirements of pharmacy courses. These include –
There are two Pharmaceutics Labs with separate preparation room. The lab pertains all the equipment and accessories to formulate drug products (mortar and pestle, spatula and slab) as well as modern technology. Basic equipment include water bath, hot plate, magnetic stirrer, oven, electronic balance and vortex etc.
The laboratory has the following instruments:
The department of Pharmaceutical Analysis has central instrumentation room, which is well equipped with sophisticated instrument like Double beam UV-Spectrophotometer, Karl Fisher, Flame photometer, Kjeldahl apparatus, and Potentiometer and conductivity meter. The lab also hosts various instruments like refractometer, polarimeter, viscometer & hot air oven.
Besides this the college has two pharmaceutical chemistry labs with a separate balance room equipped with sophisticated balances and a separate store having necessary glassware and chemicals.
The pharmacology lab is equipped with major instruments for pharmacological screening such as Rotard,Pole,Climbing Aapparatus,Electroconvulsiometer,Eddy’s Hot plate, Actophotometer,Spirometer,Analgesiometer and software for performing simulated pharmacological experiments.
The lab contains instruments like microscope, soxhlet apparatus , clavenger apparatus,TLC spreader,charts for plants microscopy,herbal drug museum etc. Various experiments setup of the lab include experiments pertaining to study of microscopic and chemical analysis of herbal drugs,extraction of active constituents using various techniques.
The pharmaceutical microbiology and biotechnology lab is equipped with Autoclaves,BOD incubator and laminar air flow etc. The primary objective of this lab is to provide practical exposure to under graduate students on techniques of tissue culture , sterilization , antibiotic assay, microbial screening , microbial sensitivity , microbial resistance etc.
The lab is designed to give students a hands-on approach to the concepts covered in the classroom. This objective is achieved through the use of models, and computer simulations or tutorials, students gain an integrated understanding of structure and function in the human body. It is supported by 3D models , charts ,Human Skeleton , Histopathological slides etc.
There are two Pharmaceutical Labs. The labs are well- equipped with basic, equipments such as, water bath, hot plate, magnetic stirrer, oven, electronic balance and vortex. More sophisticated equipments (optical microscope, sieve shaker, planetary mixer, homogenizer, tablet press, polishing pan, hardness tester to measures the thickness and diameter of the tablet, friabilator, Dissolution apparatus, disintegration apparatus are also available.

There is a Botanical garden with various medicinal plants of greater therapeutic value. The lab also consists of modern microscope and various latest instruments like microtone, Soxhlet apparatus and clavenger apparatus.
A microbiology lab is well equipped with modern instruments such as BOD, Incubator and laminar air flow bench with separate aseptic room.
The pharmacology lab is well equipped with all the modern and latest equipments. A separate Anatomy and physiology lab is there with modern microscope and all testing equipments like stethoscope, Digital glucometer, and B.P measuring instrument. There is a separate animal house
The Hospital Lab is well organized and well equipped to carry out sterilization procedures.
Our labs are equipped with two powerful serves networked in two different environments like Linux, Windows. Students also get access to the cyber world of information through Internet to keep pace with the latest developments in their respective fields.
All the labs are equipped with the latest Software. The students are developing their skills using ORACLE products, Windows 2000 Server. Visual Studio& internet tools apart from traditional packages like C/C++. The students are also encouraged to follow up in the laboratories the latest developments in the field of Information Technology like web page design, e-com etc. Computer lab is fully equipped to tackle any market level projects & remains open from early morning to late evening (some time remains open at night) for the student.
The department offers to the front end technologies in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology through an elaborate setup of laboratories consisting of the following: ¬
Chemistry lab is designed to support and illustrate chemical concepts as well as to introduce important laboratory techniques and encourage analytical thinking. Besides, the laboratory portion of the course will present some additional chemistry, both theoretical and practical. The laboratory is equipped with advanced instruments such as rotary shaker, magnetic stirrer, electric balance, etc.
Physics lab is well equipped to cater to the needs of the students who want to give a practical shape to the theory studied by them in the classroom. The Physics lab serves as a medium to study and observe the cause and effect relationship of phenomena related to the field of physics. Various important experiments on Bar Pendulum, Katter’s Pendulum, Polarimeter, Moment of Inertia, Nodal Slide, Newton’s ring, Calibration of Voltmeter, Calibration of Ammeter, Neon Lamp, P.N. Junction Diode etc are conducted in the laboratory.
Zoology lab at R. K Group provides scientific study of the animal kingdom, along with its evolution, diversity and environment. It is well equipped with all necessary facilities. Some important practical’s covered during the session are Dissection of Animal ,Permanent slide preparation, cytological experiments, Study of bones, pests, insects ,nematodes & edible fishes & parasites , counting of blood cells, study of ecosystem , immunology, biotechnology.
Botany lab at R. K. Group provides specimens, microscopes, permanent slides, latest method of physiological experiment, Genetics, section cutting of plants, demonstration, dissection etc. Botany lab is well equipped to perform various botany practical’s which are necessary for the study of the structure, properties, and biochemical processes of all forms of plant life, as well as plant classification, plant diseases, and the interactions of plants with their physical environment.
